How Cockpit Vector collects limited technical data from the G1000 NXi freeware and commercial builds. Website pages themselves do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Freeware (home / noncommercial)

After you accept the installer terms (or continue past the in-app boot notice on update), the standalone app and X-Plane plugin may send a once-per-day HTTPS ping with:

a random install_id stored on your computer
operating system name (windows, macos, or linux)
software version

We use this to count unique installs and active users, and to see OS and version mix. We do not store IP address, machine fingerprint, name, email, or flight data for freeware analytics.

Install records are kept while the install stays active and are purged after about 13 months without a ping. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding freeware adoption (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), with data minimization.

Commercial (VSIM) builds

Licensed commercial builds send periodic license heartbeats (install id, machine fingerprint hash, version, OS, and connection IP) to enforce seat limits and detect revoked keys. See your commercial agreement and commercial licensing.

Your rights

You may request access to or erasure of a freeware install_id by emailing licensing@cockpitvector.com with the id from your config folder (install_id.txt under the Cockpit Vector application-data directory). You may also object to processing under applicable law; we will erase that install row when we can identify it.

Update checks use a public release catalog and are separate from usage analytics.
